Today’s workout with Bob was on land. Each workout gets minutely better and better. But, every now and then, I’ll have a break out day, helping progress to the next phase of walking. Today was one of those days!
I started with 20 minutes on the exercise ball , then held a stationary crawl position for a new time of 5 minutes, up from 4 minutes. Next, were 30 push ups, followed by an active crawl down the hallway and back, about 100 yards, with no assistance from my trainer, Bob. I also managed to throw a 6lb ball to Bob, up from 4 lb, for 15 minutes. Boy, that ball worked every muscle in both arms. They were SORE. But, that’s a good thing!
Dr. Cris has always stated that walking for me must include going through all of the steps/stages of a baby. I’ve mastered the 1st stage of crawling. Today, I began the second step of pulling myself up from a crawling position from the floor on to the sofa. I must admit that I wasn’t very receptive at first to Bob’s suggestion, but i am never one to back down from a challenge. It was exhausting, but I did it! It doesn’t sound like a huge deal, but this step is monumental. It’s the first time i’ve uprighted myself in 35 years. The thing is … I would have never thought this possible a year ago! The Lord is working in miraculous ways!
